North 24 Parganas district police of West Bengal was created in 1986. It has a population of over 5 million in 3 Sub-divisions which has in all 19 Police Stations (Map). There are about 2500 Police Personnel to maintain Law and Order and check Crime in the district. At the head of this force is Superintendent of Police who is assisted by 3 Additional Superintendents of Police. There are 3 Sub-divisional Police Officers and about 70 other Gazzetted officers. The force is maintained and guided by Police Regulation of Bengal, 1861. In the modern era of Information Technology Revolution and owing to the efforts of the Government to introduce e-Governance, North 24 Parganas District Police introduces this online registration of complaints.

The objective is to use the resources in hand to make all the people heard in the legal system of the state. That’s why anyone can log onto this site and drop in any complaint here. We assure to get back to you on e-mail or phone and inform you the action taken by the relevant Police Station along with the name and mobile number of the enquiring officer. However this site may not be used as a means to lodge First Information Report ( FIR ) or General Diary ( GDE / GD ), and for that one has to use the existing procedures.

Nineteen Police Stations ( PS ), for which this site can be used, in alphabatical order are as follows:
          Amdanga PS, Ashokenagar PS, Baduria PS, Bagdah PS, Barasat PS, Basirhat PS,  Bongaon PS, Deganga PS, Gaighata PS,  Gopalnagar PS, Habra PS, Haroa PS, Hasnabad PS, Hemnagar Coastal PS, Hingalganj PS, Minakhan PS, Rajarhat PS, Sandeshkhali PS, and Swarupnagar PS.

 

These ninteen police station constitute three sub-divisions namely 1- Barasat, 2- Bongaon and  3 - Basirhat.

This site is an effort on the part of North 24 Parganas district Police to introduce some form of e-Policing in the governance. Since this is the first effort of its type on part of any Police Department, there may be some glitches and aberrations for which feedback of the honored visitors shall be of extreme help to us.
